She felt indifferent when it came to telling a slim version of her brother's story. But still just the thought of little David made her heart want to burst into a million pieces. Kenzie could not lie, though, she had never once told anyone since about the whole thing, and she was unsure of why she had even mentioned it to him. Was she already opening up to him? It had been two years since she had really dated someone, and it was all because of her ex. Yet she was already opening up to Chris like they had been best friends for years. That scared her. She didn't want to open up to him. She didn't want to open up to anyone. Ever. Ever. Again. That meant she would get hurt, and that was not something she truly wanted to deal with.
Kenzie was scared. She could feel her stomach doing flip flops inside of her. She knew that this was something that was going to be bad. She was opening up; for god sakes she hadn't laughed or smiled that much since David was around. But in a way it felt good. It was almost.. releiving. She felt like she could just be herself around him, and it felt like that was a good thing. In Laguna, she had no one she could just be herself around. For example, these damn flip flops that were killing her toes and probably rubbing blisters between her big toes. She was wearing them to try and fit in. She was wearing more make up then the normal for her. Her hair was pretty, and she was wearing short shorts. Normally Kenz would be mucking out stalls, or elbow deep in the mud with her friends. It was all so different.
She listened to him, and isntantly she felt pain for him. It was such a tradgedy that happened to his girlfriend. She knew in her mind though, those things happened. She had the scar to prove it. She had just been lucky her head had not onc been touched in the whole or deal. To this day that stallion still stood out in the pasture unbroken. Just a pasture pet. It was sad to her that Maggie's life had to end that way, and so young. It was ashame when young people were taken from this world to be with God. So much life to live, and then the life is just gone. She knew how he felt. David meant the world to Kenzie. She had been wrapped around that little boy's finger and at his beck and call. She missed him so. What she would give for just five more minutes with him.
Kenzie relaxed more. They had a lot more in common than she thought they did. It was refreshing to find someone who knew what she was going through, and what she went through. No one else ever understood. Some even found her to be selfish about the situation. But she just was not coping well. But she hid. Kicking off her flip flops on the floor, instantly she sighed with a smile. "I am truly sorry for your loss. That is horrible." She wiggled her toes slightly. "Dang, I think I will stick to my boots from now on. Those things hurt." she laughed to lighten the mood slightly. She didn't want everything to be depressing. So she figured if she laughed and joked about something else, they could easilly change the topic and be happier.

Chris looked at her, his mind still reeling from sharing his entire past with this girl. This girl who found him asleep on a sidewalk. This girl who he only knew for a few short hours. This girl who loved his sweet tea. This girl who preferred the country life, and this girl, glorious girl, that was totally and utterly attracted to. He had the urge to kiss her, but knew it was too soon. They had only just met, and she seemed like the kind that wouldn't be up for something like that. After all, he didn't want to seem crazy and desperate. Not to mention that he certainly didn't want her to feel used.
I really wanna kiss her, know her, be with her. He silently thought to himself. She was just so attractive and like him in so many ways. It wasn't just her looks. It was her; her personality, her demeanor, her accent, her eyes, her...everything. He was so totally over the hills for this woman who had nearly crumbled him on the sidewalk. Not in love, definitely a strong sense of infatuation that could or would most likely grow into something more, God allowing. He watched her contently as she kicked off, what people in Laguna call shoes, and he saw her instantly relax. Ha..boots..I knew it. I figured those were not your normal everyday footwear. You don't seem very....well what I mean is....You definitely don't hold the title of Miss California. I can't blame you. I HATE flip flops. He kind of chuckled at that. He had never even owned a pair of flip flops, or not that he remembered anyway. He wondered where this conversation should go from here. He wanted to get away from the sadness and the memories; the loss. So. Miss Dallas... What do you like to do? Ride horses I am assuming, but what else? He scooted a tad closer to her on the couch, looking deep into her eyes, He slowly slid his arm around her. It wasn't touching her, but it was there, noticeable, a few inches from her neck resting on the back of the couch. He felt the slight tickle of stray hair on his arm. All that remained on his mind was How will she react as if it was a flashing neon sign.

Kenzie felt butterflies. Well this was odd to her. For most, butterflies are normal. But within an hour of knowing some one? Hardly knowing them at all, and she was having butterflies like she was back in middle school. She was relatively confused with herself when it came to this fact, and she really was not sure why she was having them. However, the beauty could not complain about it. It actually felt... wonderful? Yes, that was the best way to describe it. And he made her laugh that was a bonus. It was miraculous that she had found someone that had so much in common with herself, and yet, something about him other than that was just sending her body into a reeling spin of estrogen. And she didn't mind it. For the first time, she was not fighting anything. God, she must have heat stroke or something.
Is this for real, or am I dreaming... Kenz, wake up. despite thinking this. She was not sleeping. This was reality, and it was exciting to wonder what may come from this experience with him. It was something like she had never had before, and she just kept smiling. And it felt amazing. He seemed so genuine, not like anything she had ever experienced before. His body, was just a bonus, it was his personality that was putting her into an awe-like state. Kenzie gasped when he spoke making a comment about her being no Miss California. She sat up straight, putting on her best ditsy valley girl voice. "Like oh my god, are you saying I am fat or something?" she tried hard to hold a serious face, but she instead, broke into laughter.
She watched as he moved a tad bit closer to her, slowly sliding his arm behind her, it was only inches from her neck. An exciting panis flowed freely through her. She smiled as he spoke again, relaxing her... Wait, his voice was relaxing her? What happened to the level headed, christian girl that never let a guy have any control over her in this kind of manner. Yet already, he was showing that he was able to do things to her no man had before. And maybe it was not bad. "Well, I warn you... I can be a nerd." she smiled warmly at him. "I go to church, even though that's not too fun. I like reading, singing, writing, playing my guitar. uh... watching the game, mudding, messing around, and hanging out." She sighed. "I feel like we talk about me a lot. What about you, what is it that you enjoy doing?" she asked curiously. She wanted to know, she didn't know why, but she did. She cared.

Chris laughed when she made her impression. Her personality was golden, just like her tan. he took notice of the way she reacted when he put his arm around her. She seemed to kind of relax, but she also seemed like she was at war with herself, but when he noticed her get calmer, he smiled to himself. So this was what it felt like. He hadn't had this feeling in such a long time, that it was almost overwhelming.
Once again, he felt the urge to kiss her, but right as he was about to lean in for a touch of her lips, she began talking again, so of course he stopped himself and listened intently. She was very lively and he liked that about her. He liked a girl that could talk, not just sit and listen. Hmm.. Interesting. You kinda struck me as the girl who was god fearing. As for myself, I used to go to church in my hometown, but not anymore. Well, let me think. I enjoy riding around in my jeep, I used to enjoy anything that had to do with horses. I like to sleep, eat, breath, you know the essentials. Now he was just being a smartass, but not purposefully, truth is he hadn't really had any hobbies recently, other than traveling. Truth is, all I have done for the last year is travel, that has been my only hobby, and this is my first day here, so I haven't figured out what I like to do yet. I think I may learn to surf or something, you know, like the locals. He hoped he hadn't offended her with his sarcasm before. Truth was, he was hoping she would become something he loved about his life. He wanted her in his heart, in his soul, and in his life...permanently. Can I kiss you?He surprised even himself with the question, but he really did want to. Realizing how stupid he sounded, he put his hand under her chin and pulled her face up toward his, pecking her gently on the lips, before she had a chance to say no, before she had a chance to leave and never come back. At least he knew he tried. All he could ever hope for is that she would kiss him back.

Kenzie, oh Kenzie, there she went again with her bubbly, giddy smile as he talked to her about what he liked. And she could not help but laugh when he spoke about breathing. Though it kind of sadden her that he had lost his passion for horses. Things like that happened, it had happened to her, but of course, he did not know that, and she hoped he wouldn't know for a while. She was in no rush to show off her scar. She also was in no rush to show off the tattoo she had gotten as soon as she had gotten here. She was not so proud of her decision, and if her Father found out he would surely have heart failure, but she liked it. A nice western spur, rowel pointed down on her right hip bone. Just low enough it could be hidden by her jeans.
The scar was not too hideous, but it was just something she was self conscious about. She didn't seem like the type to be self conscious, but she was. Well, over that anyways. And the tattoo; to her it was just a bit risque not soo much embarassing. Her body in general, she had a good out look on that. Not too small, not big at all. She liked that, and everything seemed to be portioned right on her. She really had nothing to be ashamed of. Guess it was just her. She was modest, and some people thought of her as snobby, and prude because of this, but it was not that. She just, liked that fact that she had will power to ward off men, but something was different with this one, and she couldn't help but hope this was not a one time thing.
Can I kiss you those words stopped her heart; well it felt like it anyways. She felt her stomach flopping. Oh lord. But before she could reply his hand was gentle, and lifting her chin upwards. She felt his lips on hers, not roughly like most men would be doing right then. I mean, they were alone, in an apartment, with only Bowser to witness. And she didn't think Bowser would be telling anyone anytime soon. Kenzie felt her hand brush gently against his cheek. She was not going to push him away. And in that instant. She was his to do with as he please, because she knew there was no way in hell she could say no to something that felt so right. Kenzie slid slightly closer to him, Bowser leaping from her lap to find a new bed on the flood.
So this is what it felt like. She had never experienced a feeling like this before. A rush almost from a place she was not familiar with. She felt her heart pounding in her chest, and she almost feared that he could hear it. It had been a year since she had kissed a man, other than her Dad, and in no way shape or form did that kiss with that boy, match up to the one she was sharing with Chris. Call her naiive. But it felt almost special. Then again, maybe she was being naiive. Maybe he was just taking advantage of her, but for some reason. She didn't seem to care. Maybe it was California doing it to her, or maybe it was just time for her to move on, and try to get along with her life. Either way, it didn't seem like there was an end in sight to this kiss, and she didn't mind it.

His family would be so happy for him. His family, his mother especially would be thrilled. She saw him through his hard time, she also helped him to realize that maybe the ranch wasn't the best place for him, at least not at the moment. Of course, at this present moment, his mother was the farthest from his mind. He was even surprised that Maggie hadn't visited it either. This moment was exactly as he wanted it to happen.
He happened to notice her deepening the kiss just a tad, nothing serious, but he felt her closeness and also enjoyed it. His hands found her hair. He began to run his fingers through it, feeling it softness, feeling the tangle of it entwining in his fingers. His smiled to himself, though his lips were still on hers.
His mind would usually wonder, but this time was different, this time he had initiated it. He hadn't initiated anything since his last actual relationship. His tongue played upon her lips, slightly tickling them a bit, asking for an entrance. One hand left her hair and played behind her back.

Kenzie had only been in this place for a few months, and already she had found someone whom she trusted this much? Her Father would be happy that she had finally found a friend, but maybe not so happy that she was already about to shack up with him. She knew this was probably twenty different sincs, but for once in her life she did not give a damn about sins. She was sure she could be forgiven. Course, really, god was the last thing from her mind right then. She didn't care, for once in her life she just didn't care. It was almost a reviving feeling. She prayed that this would not stop, but at some point she was sure it had to. It's not like they could continue kissing for the rest of their lives. Well, at least she was pretty sure this would not be the only time it happened.
Kenzie moved just a bit closer, feeling her body pressing to his slightly. Her skin was tingling, and her toes felt numb. She could feel his fingers gently running through her hair, and she liked it. There was something so sensous about it, that she just couldn't tell him to stop. She was liking it far to much. Kenzie rested her hands gently on his legs, leaning forward a little bit into the kiss, however not looking like she was going to jump on top of him or anything. She was just enjoying the touch and the feeling of it all. She was just soaking it up. There was really no other way to put it. She could not help the way she felt, and maybe she was making a bad decision, but how could it be bad when it felt so good.
His tongue was tickling her lips, and she knew what that meant. So she allowed it, her tongue playing gently with his. She wanted to break this off, but she just could not bring herself to do so. Either way, she had already decided in her mind, as far as he wanted to take it, she would. She could tell this wasn't going to stop, how could it. She didn't want it to, and she had a feeling he didn't want it to either. She pulled back a bit, panting slightly as she looked at him. Her blue eyes gleaming with lust. She didn't want to tell him that it was her first time, but she kind of... felt obligated. "I have never done this before." she whispered, desire dripping off her accent. God, this was a side of Kenzie, not even she had seen before. Was this really what boys could do to a girl? If it was, she liked it.

Chris, felt her tongue on his, tempting him further. He knew where this was going. He wanted it to go there. He thought she did too, from the way she felt. His hand played with the rim of her shirt, he wanted to, but the only thing stopping him was her words. He heard them, like a rock. Could he really rob this dear woman of her innocence? He wanted her, oh boy did he want her. But was this right. I don't want to ruin the moment, but I understand. I don't want you to do anything you don't want to do. I really want you, I feel like we have this connection, but I can wait. I don't want you to do anything you would regret. He smiled, kissing her forehead. He looked into her eyes, wondering if this was the right time. He was wondering about what she would feel like, hoping she would say yes, but respecting if she didn't.

Kenzie was trembling slightly with anticipation of what he might say. Most guys would love to take a girl's innocence, but he just didn't strike her are that sort of guy. Like she had said before, he seemed different. Like nothing she had ever seen before. She honestly hope that he didn't stop it all right then and there. She knew that her words could ruin the moment, and she was not sure she had to ability of sex appeal to get it back. She just hoped it would not phase him too much. Because it was the truth, and there wasn't much she could do to change that fact. It had been a choice she mad a long time ago. To wait for the man that was right. And yet, she was willing to give that all up? Damn right she was.
She heard his words. Oh boy she did. And at first she thought they would make her change her mind. But his lips on her forehead, and his eyes gazing into her own. It wasn't what she had expected out of herself. She expected everything to change with thre break up of the kiss, but nothing changed. Her heart was still racing, her skin still tingling. She was not sure what she should do. Her mind was spinning, almost out of control. But without another word for her, she leaned in placing her lips gently upon his, welcoming him back into the kiss. Trying desperately to get this moment back. She wanted this moment back, she wanted everything. As far as this could go, she wanted it. Every little bit of it.

Chris needed an answer, maybe not a verbal one. He was at war with himself, trying to decide if this was the right thing to do, desperately wanted her to say yes, but also wondering if she really wanted to and wasn't just stuck in the moment. He felt her lips on his again. Knowing she had made her decision, he bulged with excitement, returning the kiss. He pulled her to her feet, walking backwards toward the bed, while still kissing her. When he finally found the bed at the back of his knees, his hands found her blouse, pulling it over her head. He continued kissing her. Stopping for just a moment to kiss down her neck, before going back to her lips. He glanced in her eyes one more time.

Kenzie was in an awe-ish sort of the way she was acting. But something about it felt so right that she just could not tell herself to stop. She was enjoying way too much, and even though she knew it was wrong, for some reason she just could not stop herself from what was happening. Sure, it was something she had never done before, and she had no idea what exactly she was doing. But for some reason she just wanted to do it. In ever sense of "do it". She almost laughed at herself on that one. She must have been going insane to be doing this, but she just could not force herself to stop. And within that instant she made up her mind to stop fighting herself; and just get out of her own mind. She was just going to let things flow, and that was that.
He kissed her back, which was a reliefe. She could feel his excitement growing, and yet, she knew she was beginning to get excited too. She felt him pulling her up, and she followed willingly, staying in the kiss with him. Soon she felt him pulling her blouse over her head, and she did not stop him. She felt no need to. Feeling him kissing her skin, his lips roaming more so now. She moaned softly. It felt so amazing. Lord, she hoped this was going to be a more recent thing.

Chris's mind reeled. The possibility. Of course, it didn't even cross his mind to put a condom on. He was totally caught up n the moment. He had real feelings for this girl. Not the kind that made him lustful, but the kind that made him loving. Now to say that he was in love with her, well it was simply to soon, but here in this moment, with his lips on hers, and their naked bodies pressed together, that was all he needed. Everything seemed right, everything seemed real. He kissed her deeper.. Pulling her to the bed with him.
(ooc: Fade to black)
Chris woke to birds chirping outside, the sun shining through the windows. He rubbed his eyes. He looked over, smiling, knowing that a sleeping Kenzie was probably going to be found next to him. He wanted to get up and do the romantic thing, making her breakfast and bringing it to her in bed, but he didn't want to move. He wanted to stay there next to her and pretend they were in a victorian style house on the beach with a white picket fence with the thought that this would happen everyday. That was what he was hoping for.

Kenzie stirred the next morning. She didn't need to check, she could tell that she still was nude. The birds were outside singing their merry songs, and sun shone bright into the studio. She yawned slightly, the blankets up slightly as she rolled onto her back. She knew that she would find Chris at her side. Her golden hair was a complete mess. She could feel it everywhere, meshed up against the pillow. Damn, she would have to walk home looking like this. She could see Bowser curled up at the foot of the bed. The dog always had had the bad habit of having to be in bed with her. Yet she didn't mind. It was kind of comforting for her when she lived alone in the bigger house that did.
Anyways, Kenzie rolled over facing him low, placing her hand gently on his bare chest. Her finger tracing a line down over his muscles. She smiled warmly at him with her sleepy little grin. "Morning." she said softly. Using her other hand to brush her messy hair back. So maybe her decision had been a bad one. She hadn't meant for it to end the way it did. But something inside of her didn't mind it. She was actually excited about what she had done. It had been so amazing. The way he had been with her; nothing like she had ever pictured. He was gentle with her; caring, and understanding that the things he was doing were slightly painful for her. BUt she had enjoyed it none the less. Everything had been amazing, and of course she did not know much about performance, but she thought he was amazing.

Chris smiled at her. Morning. That was all that needed to be said. Of course, it was obvious that the night had been amazing. He knew it was hard for her, and he knew it was a decision she made willingly, but it was also a situation that he was grateful for. It wasn't lustful feeling that had wielded last night. It had to have been more than that. That sex had felt like no other he had EVER experienced; Not even with Maggie, his first, he thought his only. Now, all that he hoped for was a continuance. Something that said this would happen again, that they would be together. That she wouldn't leave him.
He had seen many things about her that night. You can tell a lot about a person by the way she looks. He had noticed her scar, but he hadn't cared. Not because it was the moment, but because he thought it characterized her. Thought it made her even more beautiful. He kissed her lips... His skin tingling under the touch of her fingers. He put a hand in her hair and played with it, twirling it around his fingers. She looked even more beautiful than she did the night before. Her hair ruffled and messy, her face remnants of the make-up she wore the day before. He looked into her eyes. You are the most beautiful person I have ever seen in my life. He kissed her again.
