Aiden was truly excited to see his grandson, Alexander. His daughter, Rosalie, was supposed to be bringing him by for a visit later and he felt like a kid who had been let loose in a candy store. He had woken up early, much earlier than usual this morning, and had gotten himself showered and dressed in record time. He had made himself some breakfast and had done the dishes. And yet, he still had time left over before his daughter and beautiful grandson showed on his doorstep. He kind of wished that they would arrive earlier but he knew that Rosalie had things that she needed to take care of before she could drop by here. As much as Aiden loved the boy that had been created by his daughter and Luke, he hated that guy, the boy's father. Okay, maybe hate was too strong of a word but strong dislike or distaste was a good way to put it. He had never liked the guy. He shook his head to dislodge the thoughts of said male and headed into the laundry room to finish up the load he had started about half an hour ago. Aiden whistled while he worked, hanging his jeans up and tossing his t-shirts into the dryer. Once that was finished, he headed back into the front of his home and shuffled into the kitchen. He withdrew a Coke from his fridge and headed into the living room.
Once there, he dropped down on his couch and sank into the buttery soft leathery cushions with a heavy sigh. Aiden popped open the Coke using the tab and took a long drink. He grabbed the remote that lay next to him and flicked on the tv. He settled back into his seat and began to flip through the channels. Alexander was such a cute child. Yes, his thoughts were going back to his grandson, so sue him. He took another sip of his drink and thought about the boy who had captured his heart. He may not approve of the father, but he was grateful to the man for helping to create the little wonder that amused Aiden to this day. The boy was the son he had never had and to see him with Alexander was definitely a Kodak moment. The usually strict and somewhat gruff personality Aiden had melted away when the boy was around. Aiden became all smiles and playfulness. He was deathly protective over the boy as well. It was such an adorable sight to behold.
Dammit, where was his daughter? He couldn't wait any longer. He wanted to see his grandson! Aiden smothered a sigh against the can in his hand as he brought it to his lips and allowed the brown liquid to trickle down his throat in a satisfying manner.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - today was one of those days, where rosalie didn't had a secret meeting planned with luke. her father had requested to see his grandson, and therefore also his daughter. rosa didn't mind her father - in small potions, but truth being told, this meeting sort of freaked her out beforehand. she had a crazy idea, that he somehow knew what was going on between her and luke, or that he would tell her, how incredibly disappointed in her she was. yes, he was that kind of person. but rosa had never heard him say anything like that to her, only to everyone else, so it would be a first if he started now.
she remembered that when rosa was dating luke and he made her pregnant, her father had told luke something like that. and honestly, rosa couldn't blame. luke was four years older than rosa and a regular badboy. poor, wearing leather jackets, didn't care much for his looks. her father had been very surprised that rosa could fall in love with someone like that. but rosa had no intentions whatsoever to tell her father she was sill seeing him, secretly. she just wanted to have a nice day with her father...
she quickly finished up, placed alexander in the baby lift and handed him a toy to play with. rosa had her own car, so she took that and tightly secured her seatbelt to the baby lift and walked over on the driver's seat and did the same thing. then she started driving and after twenty minutes of driving, she pulled up in front of her dad's house.
no matter how much how much her father loved her, it sometimes felt like she only wanted to see her because of alexander. maybe she was just being paranoid, but it felt like alexander was the only thing that made him not go all mad and angry at her for being a mother at the age of nineteen and have been dating such a bad boy like luke. rosa shook her head, trying to ignore the thought as she headed up to the front door and opened it.
"daddy? i hope you are home. i brought someone who i know you are dying to see again." she called inside the house, looking around. then she started walking towards the couch, which she knew was one of his favorites spots and there he was. "daddy.. " she said and placed the lift on the couch next to him. alexander was sleeping right now, but he was still the cutest thing. rosa bent down and hugged her father as he was sitting there.
if you looked at rosa you couldn't tell that six months ago, she gave birth to a son. she hadn't gained much weight, plus she was naturally thin. rosa smiled at her father, leaving alexander in the baby lift, sitting across him in a comfy chair, yawning just a bit.

The anticipation of seeing his grandson and his daughter was causing him to become restless. It was kind of cute, how excited he was. But to Aiden,it was a nuisance. He wanted to be able to just in front of his tv, enjoy what he was watching, and wait patiently till his daughter came into the house. He wanted to hug his little girl and kiss his grandson on the head. Aiden was a big time family man and so any contact with them was enough to make him happy for a week. Maybe even two depending on how long in between the last visit and the next. Sometimes, when he knew that Rosalie was home, he would drop by just to see her, even if the baby was asleep. They would talk and he would find out what was going on in his daughter's life. He loved his girl with all his heart and wanted the very best for her. That was why he disliked Lucas so much. The boy was on the low rung of society as far as Aiden could tell. He dressed in leather jackets and barely combed his hair. The kid didn't seem to have much of a future ahead of him but Aiden knew that he could be wrong. That was one of the few things that kept him from hating the poor boy. That and the aforementioned fact that he had helped create Aiden's grandson, Alexander.
After a few moments of deep thought, Aiden heard the door open and then shut; footsteps followed the sound of the locking door and then Rosalie's sweet voice echoed through the house as she announced herself, saying that she had brought someone she knew that he was wanting to see. She came into the living room and sat down the baby carrier next to him on the couch. He looked down and saw that Alexander was fast asleep. This caused his heart to melt and he turned his attention back to his daughter as she leaned in for a hug. Aiden wrapped his arms around her in a tight hug and kissed her on the top of the head before releasing her. Aiden smiled as his hand found Alex's little foot, "Have a seat. Take a load off." he said in greeting. "I'm glad you came by."
Aiden looked at his daughter for a moment and a thought flickered through his head, "How's Luke?" he asked, completely guessing. Well, he had his suspicions but they weren't well grounded. No, Aiden was totally going to bluff and his Rosalie would fill in the rest. He had been told that the boy wasn't in the picture anymore but seeing Rosalie's glowing face, he knew that someone, save for himself and Alexander, was making her extremely happy. A father always knew.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - rosa loved how well her father was with kids and especially how he was with alexander. he had always been a good father, always wanting to do what was best for rosalie's good. so it made her smile everytime she saw how well he treated alexander. rosa smiled at her father, when he was kissing her forehead. alexander moved a little in his sleep, when he felt his grandfather having a loose grip on his foot. alexander said something - no one knew what it meant, but he was still sleeping deeply.
rosa had only just made it to the comfy chair, before her father asked about how luke was. rosa looked at him with a raised brow. why did he ask about him? he knew very well that rosalie and luke hadn't talked since before rosa had given birth to alexander. but of course, that was all a lie. but her father didn't knew that. "why.. why would you ask that? you know i haven't seen luke since before alexander was born.." she tried her best to sound convincing, because if her father found out, hell would break lose. "he haven't visited me once after alexander was born." rosa shrugged and stood up and walked out in the kitchen.
if she was supposed to stay awake to this kind of talk, she had to have some coffee. this was just lame - why would he ask this? besides, it was rosa's life. she loved luke and he had told her several times that he loved too. and he also loved alexander, plus luke was one of the very few people that could get alexander to smile - other than herself of course. "you want a cup of coffee, daddy?" she called and didn't gave him time to answer. she took two cups and filled them with coffee, a bit of milk in his - she knew how he wanted it and served it for him.
rosa sat down in the comfy chair again, pulling her legs up under her, before taking a sip of the coffee. yes, she was thinking about luke right now, but she tried her hardest not to show it to her father. rosa then looked at her cellphone, only a few minutes until alexander was supposed to wake up, but she didn't told her father that. she wanted to know why he would ask about luke. besides, alexander was still sleeping.

Aiden's heart melted when he heard his grandson mumble something incoherent in his sleep when he touched the baby's foot. He gently rubbed the bottom of the boy's foot as he slept and watched shock fall on his daughter's face when he asked her how Luke was doing. She asked him why he had asked that, stating that she hadn't seen Luke since before she had given birth to Alexander. Aiden didn't believe that for a second. He knew that his daughter was in love with that boy, Lucas, which would make her bound and determined to see him. Not to mention that the guy would want to see his son grow up. He didn't believe for a second that they hadn't at least been in each other's presence. Rosa even told him that Luke hadn't visited since the boy's birth. Okay, if that was true, did that mean that Aiden had to bust the boy's skull? He didn't want the male with his daughter, that didn't mean that he wasn't allowed to be in the baby's life. The boy deserved a father, even if he wasn't his grandfather's favorite person in the world.
His daughter offered him some coffee and he said nothing, knowing that she would fix it for him anyway. He took it from her when it was held out to him and he thanked her, taking a sip of it and sighing heartily. She had added milk, just the way he liked it. "Thank you, doll." he said, taking another sip and holding the mug in his lap as he looked at his girl. "I ask because I'm curious. The boy hasn't been around to see his son?" he asked, bringing the cup up to his lips again as he took another sip. Yeah, just what he needed, more caffeine. With a sigh, he rested the mug on his knee and looked over at Rosalie who was now curled up in the chair across from him.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - okay, granted. what she was saying could no way be the truth. and it wasn't... far from. rosa's father was a clever man, but he only needed to know half the truth. anything else would be suicide. rosa rolled her eyes a little, before answering him. "okay.. luke have been around to see alexander a few times. but that's it.. please don't rub it in my face, that you won't have us to be together. you have gotten it exactly how you want it. because of you, i can't be with the man i love more than anything. thanks a lot dad." right after she said that, alexander started to move around in the baby lift.
great, her father had made her in a bad mood. and sure, she was seeing luke, but it would be so much easier if he just gave them his "blessing", so they could stop this secret. alexander was now fully awake and before he could start screaming, rosa had picked him up and started walking out to the kitchen. she sighed as she opened the fridge, looking for a bottle. after a little while she found a bottle and placed it in the microwave. while waiting for it to warm, she said some silly noises to make alexander smile and maybe even giggle. thirty seconds later, the microwave gave a ring from it and rosa took it out and walked back in the living room to sit down in the chair again, not looking at her dad.
alexander ate like he hadn't seen proper food in two weeks and rosa smiled several times, because he looked so cute. after a few minutes, he finished the bottle and rosa smiled. "that's my big boy!" she said with a funny voice that made him giggle. after alexander had finished burping, rosa placed a blanket on the floor and placed some different toys down there for him to play with. then she carefully placed him on the blanket, in a distance where she could see him all the time. rosa then turned her attention back to her father, looking a wee bit mad still. he really needed to say something good now, otherwise rosa would leave his house right away, taking alexander with her.

He listened as Rosalie told him that Luke had been around to see Alexander but nothing more. She told him that it was his fault that she wasn't allowed to be with the man she loved more than anything and that she didn't want him rubbing it in her face. She sarcastically thanked him and Aiden could tell that she was mad at him. Hell, at least he hadn't killed the boy for getting his baby girl pregnant. She should be happy. And yet, here she was, shooting daggers at him with her eyes. Dammit. She hopped up and swooped Alexander from his carrier as he began to whimper when he awoke. She went into the kitchen and Aiden sat there, wondering what he could say to his daughter that wouldn't make her run and take her son with her. After a moment, he heard his microwave ding, signaling that whatever it was heating up was done. He assumed that it was one of the bottles that he had stored in his fridge for the boy, on nights that he spent the night here. Aiden sighed and ran a hand through his hair. He took another sip of his coffee and sat the mug down on the coffee table in front of him.
His daughter then came back in, fed the boy, and he heard Alexander burp when he was satisfied. Aiden watched as she spread out a blanket and dropped some toys on it before laying the baby onto it so he could play. He kept his eyes on the baby, still unsure of what he could say to his girl. And then, it came to him. "Well, at least he's trying to be a father." he said, softly. It was in no way sarcastic or malicious. Aiden looked at his daughter, giving her a serious look, "You are an adult. I never forbade you from seeing him. You're lucky about that. I only said that I don't want you with him. That, simply, is my opinion and you are old enough to make your own decisions. If you want to be with Luke, then by all means, be with him. But, I will not give my consent unless i see a considerable change in that boy. Which I highly doubt I will ever see." Again, Aiden wasn't being mean about this. He was simply being very matter of fact and telling his daughter what he thought and felt. He was the father and she had to know what his thought process was.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - "you doubt you will ever see change? yes, i admit he was a badboy back when i met him. but the way he is when he is around alexander is just remarkable. he is one of the only people being able to make alexander smile and giggle. he treats me with all the respect in the world. he loves me, and i keep telling him that you don't entirely hate him, because he is some of the reason alexander is here today. i wish you would just give him a second chance. he's really changed to the better since alexander was born." she said, before looking at alexander who was playing with a stuffed frog. rosa took a deep breath, standing up and walking and sat next to her father. "i don't expect you to love him, like i do, dad. i just really want you to give him a second chance. he really loves alexander and would do anything for him. rosa reached in over the table and fetched her coffee cup, taking a sip, hoping that he would understand.
rosa's mother wasn't around anymore. she had died when rosa was fourteen years old in a carcrash. it had been hard on her father and on rosa too, but she lived. therefore, she wanted her father to be happy for her. yes, luke was four years older than her, but he loved her and he loved their son. plus, the few times he had met her father, he had treated him with all the respect in the world too. rosalie loved both her father and luke very much and the last thing she wanted was to choose between them. she hoped that it would never end out in this. then she leaned in and hugger her father again, while talking this time. "i'll date him.. and then i want you to give him a second chance. okay? she asked, kissed his cheek and pulled away and walked down on the floor and sat next to her son.

Listening to his daughter really made Aiden think. She told him that Luke had been a bad boy when she had met him but he had changed. She told him that Luke was one of the few people who could put a smile on Alexander's face and that he loved her and the baby. He looked down at Alexander and watched as he played with a stuffed frog, gently nomming on it with his mouth. That brought a smile to Aiden's mouth but it disappeared as Rosalie brought a serious aura to his side as she came to sit on the couch next to him. She told him that she didn't expect him to love Lucas like she did but she wanted him to give him a second chance because he loved her and he loved Alexander and would do anything for the boy. Aiden sighed softly as he tried to think of what to do. Rosalie was opening herself up to him and she really wanted him to try to like Lucas, for her.
She hugged him gently as she told him that she was going to date Luke and that she wanted him to try and give him a second chance. Aiden hugged her back and then watched as she moved to the floor to be next to her son. Aiden dropped down onto the floor and picked up the small child, cradling him in his lap as he continued to try and eat the poor, defenseless stuffed frog. "As long as he treats you and Alex right, I don't mind you dating him. When you are sure that what I see of him will change my mind, you set up a meeting. I will look at him with an open mind and see if my thoughts change. That's all I can do, doll." he told her calmly. He was willing to give the boy a second chance but only because Rosalie had asked for it. And, again, as if it hadn't been said many times over, because Lucas had given him Alexander. He cradled the small boy in his arms as he cooed and continued to play with the frog, his arms being thrown about in the air as he waved excitedly. Aiden laughed and kissed the boy on the head.
