after the sun started to set, it didn't take very long for the water to get cool and for the entire beach to pack up and go home. it was about seven o clock and after a long day or surfing, terri and ike were about to call it quits. they were both pretty worn out and hadn't eaten since they came to the beach at three, and so they decided to go back to ike's place for pizza and a terrible movie on hbo (just like every other night). ike would literally have pizza boxes from every day of the week stacked up until garbage day, that's just how addicted they were. the walk to the car was the same, you know. flirting with random chicks leaving and then talking about them the second they were out of hearing distance, wondering about whether or not they should get new boards and complaining about how freaking hungry they were. as they were climbing into ike's dad's hybrid truck thing, the sun was about halfway out of the sky. "
should i order the pizza now or?" ike asked, suddenly wondering why he'd left his cell phone in the car and where exactly in the car it was. he unlocked the car and heard it beep from its usual parking space and then put his board on the hood of the car first, just like always. it was weird doing the same thing everyday and not even being bored about it, but maybe that's what it's like when you've known someone your entire life.

for terri, it had been a pretty typical day. him and his buddy ike had spent most of their afternoon at the beach catching waves, hitting on girls, and now they were packing up, ready to head home. terri had known ike since childhood - much like he had with pierre. but his relationship with ike was slightly different. ike had a much more logical out-look on things and he was always the one who would knock down terri's impulsive ideas. then of course terri was always the one telling ike to loosen up and had even put him in some weird situations at times. but that was what made them the pair they were. aside from the obvious difference in size, they balanced each other out well. "nah, wait till we get to your crib." he said as he followed ike's lead, placing his board on the hood of the car. "or we can hop on that sev-swag." he teased, referring to the 7-11, although he really had no plans on going back there after his last experience. running a hand through his dreads, he scoped out the parking lot, allowing his eyes to take one last glance at the eye candy that surrounded him. "dang!" he began as he nudged ike in his side. "check it out, that girl over here...i'd marry her. i'd put a ring on it. right now." he claimed in words of lust. of course though in three seconds terri would forget the pretty face and move onto the next best thing - aka the next cute girl he saw. "homie, let's go, i need some grub." and just like that his attention span had turned as he slipped into the passenger side.

"nah, wait till we get to your crib. or we can hop on that sev-swag," said terri, putting his board on top of ike's. terri had taken to calling 7-11 sev-swag and ike didn't really even know why, but he was too disinterested to ask. he suddenly felt something nudge him in the rib, terri's elbow. "daaang." ike lowered his sunglasses to see the girl that terri was probably referring to more clearly. he smirked. "check it out, that girl over here...i'd marry her. i'd put a ring on it. right now." ike laughed and rolled his eyes. terri was always talking about how he'd marry a chick because of how hot she was, but he'd be checking every single girl he saw on the way to ike's place. "
i'd marry her too, mang, " ike agreed, getting into the car and shutting the door behind him. he stared at her for a few seconds longer, but only until terri got into the car. he'd probably be made fun of for checking out a chick he didn't even know for more than five seconds. "homie, let's go, i need some grub." terri said. ike put the key in the ignition and revved up the car, but it took a couple of seconds too long to turn on and made this weird death kind of noise that definitely freaked him out. " what the fuck was that? " he started driving anyway, and it didn't take too long before they were out of the parking lot and on their way to the house. the car was kind of shaky though, still make weird noises whenever it had to start moving again after a red light. "i need to take her for another tune up, she's working like shit. " ike called the car betsey, he had since his parents let him have it the year before. he'd never really had a problem with her before.
