so far terri's entire shift had consisted of him telling people about the day that had recently rocked his world - along with helping out costumers too. but just a few days ago he had been at the local 7-11 getting his food fix after a good surf sesh like he always did. nothing was out of the ordinary. he was hitting on a hot girl and then the next thing he knew the place was getting held up. and that wasn't even the best part of the story - the best part was when terri got to tell people about the hot girl he had selflessly protected. sure, at the time he could've pissed his pants at the sound of gun shots going off, but no one else needed to know those details. instead, he thrived on telling them two things. one, how amazingly attractive the girl was and two, how ballsy he was for protecting her. by now though, he was pretty sure that most of his co-workers were over hearing him talk about his heroic antics and he decided he could cool it off for the day. but that didn't mean he'd stop talking about it all together. in all reality, whether a cute girl was involved or not, the sev getting held up was probably the most interesting thing to happen in laguna for awhile. the 'bubble', as some refereed to laguna, wasn't exactly a place known for crime and violence and to terri it was just something way more interesting to talk about. "hold on, let me get this." he said to his co-worker as he leaned over to answer the front desk phone. "yes, we do provide surf lessons." he said in reply to the inquisitive person on the other line before hanging up a few seconds later. before getting back into conversation with his co-worker though his eyes caught sight of a familiar brunette. terri was one to love the ladies, but in that moment he had hoped that his eyes were playing some kind of dirty trick on him. "uh..yeah, she was really good looking though bro." he said in reply to his co-worker as he hesitantly tried to tear his eyes away from the sight of ivy, hoping that he wouldn't see her - although that was probably impossible.

the calming scent of salt water relaxed ivy as she nervously made her way to the oh-so-familiar surf & shop. she could feel her hands shaking a bit as bit her lip and jostled her bag back and forth from one arm to the other. being back in laguna felt right and much like the home she left behind, but the only thing that had her scared like a coward still were the people she had to face..the ones she left behind without warning. it was at this moment where she was about to face one that she knew wasn't going to let her off that easily and welcome her back with open arms even though she wished for it. ivy had known terrance smith back to her sandbox days when they were children all the way up to their reckless moments as teenagers, ruling the school halls like they owned it. he had been her best guy friend, sharing secrets and problems with him more than anyone else she knew. it was safe to say that she totally messed up their friendship big time when out of all the people she didn't even let him know that she was running away to new york for a year. she knew it must have hit him like a rock once he found out she had left town to go across the country. if it had been the other way around ivy had no doubt in her mind that she'd be pissed at hell at him the way he probably was pissed at her still. word traveled quickly around the small town of laguna and with ivy being hound down by the paparazzi she still hoped that terri didn't know she was back in town. the brunette wanted to come face to face with him first and lay out everything on the table in a calm and mannerly way. but who was she kidding? the odds of that happening were close to none and with her showing up at his job out of the blue there was definitely a fight boiling up to occur. as she bent her fedora a bit down on her head before entering the surf & shop she could already feel the tension in the air as she spotted terri at one behind the counter. she almost froze at the entrance of the store ready to bolt from fear of being yelled at by him, but she turned into the store sliding through racks of bathing suits and tee shirts, taking off her sunglasses. her nervous habit of biting her bottom lip started again as she looked at terri debating whether to go to him or not. with a deep inhale and exhale she slowly made her way to the counter feeling like a stranger all at once. "uhh..surprise?" she almost mumbled as she half smiled at terri adverting her eyes from his knowing that she would only be met with accusations and anger. all she wanted was to sit down and let the yelling begin. this was so not going to be pretty. she could tell already.
