 jackie's feet pounded on the treadmill. her ears pumped with noise from her ipod, and her breath came out ragged and abnormal. jackie tried to get to the gym at least once a day, being a model didn't mean all she did was sit around, pose, and look pretty. it really effected everything she did, from what she ate to how much she should exercise. but she never overdid it, or starved herself, or anything like that - but she had friends who did. to be honest she never really wanted to get into modelling in the first place. her control freak of a mother had come up with it after years of making jacqueline be a pageant debutante (she had always detested it, year after year.) and she had never stood up to her, all she had wanted to do was make her mother happy and proud. jackie sighed, wishing she'd forget all these near regretful thoughts, and turned the treadmill down to a lower speed, soon stepping off it altogether. she redid her tight pony tail which had come loose and unruly and wiped her forehead with a cloth. she was almost done with her usual regime. all that was left was the elliptical.
she made her way to the water fountain first, taking a long, refreshing sip of the freezing cold water and pausing for a moment, scanning the gym. it was pretty empty tonight, even though it was only quarter of seven. an older man was in the corner lifting weights, near him an overweight woman huffing of the bicycle. a small pilates class took up most of the space, and a set of people on the rowers. it felt spacey and bare, and quiet, like the noises the people were making were not enough to fill the air. she sighed, turning back to the fountain, she took another long drink, closing her eyes. when she was finished, she turned on her heel fast, full on bumping into someone who was also eyeing the fountains. "oh! i'm sorry!" she exclaimed, feeling red embarrassment blush her cheeks within a moment. jeesh, she blushed easily.
