Ah, the beach. Well she had to start somewhere, but it wasn't going to be trapped indoors all day. The drive to California had taken forever and by now, Avery Jane Otto was craving action; anything but sitting on her ass would do real well right about now. And not that she wasn't already in love with the little one bedroom beach house -she was- but cooping herself up there was hardly the point of this adventure.
So, it was with a red beanie on her head and sunglasses resting on her nose that Avery decided that she should let her dark eyes comb the beach for someone her age or so to befriend. She could definitely deal with some social interaction from someone who wasn't twice her age; ie her parents and that creepy old guy who rented her the house. Some young adult action was more her style and she figured she was friendly enough to gain some attention. But, of course she had a back up plan. If all else failed she always had Marvin, and nobody could resist Martin.
Martin was Avery's beloved acoustic guitar. He was old and he was used but he was her's and he played so well. It was almost a crime when her father had offered to replace him. Avery chuckled at the thought. By now she was close enough to the water that she could walk right on into the salty waves if she wanted. But ever conscious of the musical companion strapped to her back, Avery decided not to. Instead she straightened out her red tank top, dusted some sand that had been caught in the breeze away from her cut off shorts and looked around.
"Well Laguna Beach, here I am. Now what have you got to offer?"
